Eleanor Hughes

Eleanor Hughes comes to the Bay Area Climate Collaborative with extensive experience in environmental analysis, policy research, and project management. She received her BA from Pomona College in Claremont, California, double majoring in Environmental Analysis (with a focus in Design) and Politics.

Prior to serving as a Climate Corps Program Associate at the BACC, Eleanor was involved in comprehensive sustainability projects at Pomona and beyond. These ranged from work on Pomona’s sustainability action plan to a feasibility study of wastewater reclamation at the Claremont Colleges. As an undergraduate she received a Mellon Foundation Environmental Analysis grant to research the potential of tax-increment financing for transit-oriented development with Saint Paul City Councilmember Russ Stark. Eleanor also co-led a student trip to Washington, DC in 2009 for the Energy Action Coalition’s Power Shift conference.

Eleanor was born and raised in the Twin Cities, and now resides in the Bay Area, remaining committed to fighting climate change in every way possible.
