California Public Utilities Commission Approves 1,000 Megawatts in Renewable Contracts

The California Public Utilities Commission on Thursday approved more than 1,000 megawatts in renewable contracts – including two wind and three solar photovoltaic projects – between Pacific Gas & Electric, Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas & Electric and developers. BACC partner PG&E won approval for a 25-year power purchase agreement for a 78.2-megawatt project slated for private land in Solano County; SoCal Ed won approval for three 20-year power purchase agreements for three new solar PV projects totaling 711 megawatts in Kern and Los Angeles counties; and SDG&E won approval for an amended 20-year power purchase agreement for a wind project in Imperial County.
