PG&E is Top Ranked U.S. Utility for Newly Installed Solar Projects
The Solar Electric Power Association has announced that BACC partner Pacific Gas and Electric was the top U.S. utility in 2010 in terms of newly installed solar capacity and watts per customer. The utility installed 157 megawatts in 2010 of both photovoltaic and concentrating solar power technologies. PG&E’s 2010 solar portfolio was about two-thirds distributed customer PV projects, with more than 10,000 projects totaling more than 104 MW. PG&E also purchased the output of the 48-MW Copper Mountain PV facility. Read more here.
