San Francisco Panel Adopts Plan to Allow Residents to Use 100% Clean Electricity
San Francisco’s Public Utilities Commission has adopted a new program to allow residents to power their homes and businesses with “100 percent” certified renewable energy. The unanimously approved CleanPowerSF program will allow San Francisco’s 330,000 utility customers to get all of their electricity from wind, solar and other renewable sources starting as early as July 1. The city would buy renewable power on the open market and city customers who want to stay with Pacific Gas & Electric would have the option to opt out. Read more here.
